Frequently Asked Questions

What impact will it have on our power bill by switching to energy efficient windows?

Beginning in 1992, with help from ENERGY STAR®, American families and businesses saved $297 billion on utility bills and prevented more than 2.1 billion metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions by 2013. Every Pella® Product meets or exceeds ENERGY STAR certification in all 50 states and most of Canada. What does this mean for you? Not only might your notice a drop in your heating and cooling charges, you will help protect the environment.

How much will my replacement door or replacement windows project cost?

Our windows and doors are specifically designed and custom-built for your home, meaning no two projects are identical. Our wide range of products make it hard to discuss pricing without first considering your needs and the project results you envision. Due to this nature, we find it mutually beneficially to send out a Pella sales representative who can provide you with a quoted project price once they have seen the project site itself. To expedite the quoting procedure, your Pella® sales representative is prepared with a computer and a portable printer so that they’ll have all the quote information you’ll need—as soon as the sales representative has been given the opportunity to consider the requirements of the project and aligns them with your vision.

In addition to offering a broad range of high-quality products to pick from, we also have a generous offering of payment and finance options. Pella is uniquely-suited to offer you excellent window and door products at affordable prices, giving you a chance to make the upgrades you want to while building great value into your Minneapolis area home as you do it.

What should I use to clean my glass windows?

We recommend that you clean them with a prepackaged vinegar-based cleaning solution or use an ammonia-free glass cleaner such as Windex or Sparkle. You can also mix your own with one part vinegar to ten parts water. Put the solution on a soft, clean microfiber cloth or paper towel. We do not suggest using glass cleaners that are ammonia- or alcohol-based as they could leave streaks or create a film that magnetizes moisture and dust.

Do Pella® employees actually install your replacement windows and doors?

Pella uses contract installers who are certified to install Pella products. They are required to complete a rigid set of training courses so that your windows and doors are correctly installed and meet Pella’s strict warranty criteria. We seek out the best Minneapolis-local people and recruit them to install our projects. Prior to beginning our relationship, Pella requires them to pass a drug test and background check. Our installers are fully protected by liability and workers compensation insurance. In addition to Pella product warranties, your installation is also covered for 10 years under the installation limited warranty and service agreement.

What's different about buying replacement windows and doors from local Pella® showrooms versus buying from retailers like Lowe’s?

Your Minneapolis Pella branch offers services and support that “big box” stores can’t perform. Our specialty is selling, installing, and servicing Pella Windows & Doors. Working with a dedicated Pella sales team, project manager, local service technicians, and quality installers means that you will have the knowledge of our whole team. We like to use the term “single source accountability”, meaning that there’s no one to chase down regarding a product, installation, or warranty issue. Simply contact our office, your sales representative, or our project manager with any questions or concerns you may have and we will get to work resolving the issue.

Why is Pella® the right choice for my home?

There are numerous reasons why Minneapolis homeowners select Pella for their replacement window and door needs. Pella is a privately owned, professionally managed company founded in 1925. Each of our high quality windows and doors are produced with high standards and serviced by Pella’s professional Direct Sales Network. Unlike most other window and door companies who sell exclusively through retailers, Pella has dedicated windows & door design centers throughout North America. This unique way of conducting business gives the homeowners in Minneapolis a warm, personal experience with the support of a local to Minneapolis, Pella-certified team. Whether you are considering the beauty of wood, the strength of fiberglass, or the low maintenance of vinyl—Pella has a superior quality, energy efficient and durable solution.
